COVID-19 Disinfection: The Budd Group Helps SWU Campus Get Ready for Reopening

If you are a campus administrator or facilities manager, your concerns about student safety as the COVID-19 pandemic continues is understandable and warranted. When building out a plan for campus reopening, The Budd Group is a valuable partner. We're working with Southern Wesleyan University (SWU) to help them prepare for student arrival this fall with thorough deep cleaning and commercial building disinfection protocols in place. Residence Director Matthew Thorpe and Campus Safety Coordinator Adam Ladd are part of the team, taking extra precautions to ensure student health and safety in fall 2020 and beyond. Some of those precautions include:

  • Reorganized check-in process designed to limit crowding and foot traffic
  • Masks for each student, with masks strongly encouraged in communal spaces
  • Social distancing protocols
  • Updates to campus communication system that include detailed safety information and updates, customized to each residence hall

The Budd Group is working with the campus physical plant to plan and implement cleaning and commercial building disinfection protocols. Some of our planned innovations include disinfecting using the Clorox Total 360, which sprays a disinfectant mist on areas and surfaces that are designed to kill harmful microbes and bacteria, and ongoing touchpoint commercial disinfection of lobbies, common areas, fitness spaces, and more to lower risk of spread of infection in high-traffic areas. We use EPA-approved disinfectants proven to kill Coronavirus on surfaces. Our teams wear personal protective equipment (PPE) while deployed for commercial disinfection. And they work throughout the day, across campus, to uphold health and safety standards according to expert recommendations.
