Accord­ing­ly, it is our cor­po­rate pol­i­cy to pro­tect the qual­i­ty and diver­si­ty of our envi­ron­ment and con­tin­u­al­ly improve our per­for­mance with regards to sus­tain­able, eco­log­i­cal­ly sound best practices.

The Budd Group can help you reduce your impact on the envi­ron­ment through our fam­i­ly of green pro­grams, which exceed LEED stan­dards and meet CIMS-GB stan­dards. We also pro­vide envi­ron­men­tal­ly-friend­ly solu­tions for cus­tomers who are cur­rent­ly pur­su­ing LEED cer­ti­fi­ca­tion to help them reach compliance.

Green Clean­ing Program

When it comes to choos­ing the best clean­ing solu­tions, prac­tices, equip­ment and per­son­nel train­ing, our Green Clean­ing Pro­gram defines our com­mit­ment to envi­ron­men­tal­ly-con­scious clean­ing and san­i­ta­tion pro­ce­dures. The main goal is to pro­mote and main­tain a safe and healthy work­place while improv­ing the envi­ron­men­tal qual­i­ty of our oper­a­tions and the sur­round­ing communities.

LEED Cer­ti­fi­ca­tion Program

The Budd Group has part­nered with Diversey, a lead­ing provider of com­mer­cial clean­ing, san­i­ta­tion and hygiene solu­tions, to devel­op a com­pre­hen­sive green jan­i­to­r­i­al pro­gram espe­cial­ly designed for cus­tomers wish­ing to achieve LEED cer­ti­fi­ca­tion. We have ded­i­cat­ed staff mem­bers to help you stay cur­rent with the lat­est LEED and USG­BC infor­ma­tion in order to achieve max­i­mum LEED cred­its for your building.

Pro­gram Highlights

Green Clean­ing Training

In part­ner­ship with Diversey, we have launched an employ­ee train­ing pro­gram, called Healthy High Per­for­mance Clean­ing, to help our cus­tomers reach LEED cer­ti­fi­ca­tion. This train­ing pro­gram has a proven track record with the USG­BC and com­plies with LEED cer­ti­fi­ca­tion require­ments for build­ings across the Unit­ed States.

Equip­ment

Offer­ing every­thing from high-speed buffers with dust con­trol to HEPA vac­u­um clean­ers that meet the Car­pet and Rug Institute’s stan­dards, The Budd Group’s clean­ing equip­ment pro­gram is designed specif­i­cal­ly to help cus­tomers achieve LEED certification.

Green Seal Chemicals

The USG­BC requires that 90% of chem­i­cals pur­chased each year must meet either a Green Seal or EPA stan­dard. Our chem­i­cal pro­gram is designed to meet all the require­ments for LEED cer­ti­fi­ca­tion, and The Budd Group is cur­rent­ly using only Green Seal clean­ing chem­i­cals for all gen­er­al com­mer­cial clean­ing and floor work.

Paper Prod­ucts and Trash Liners

The Budd Group uses only Green Seal paper prod­ucts, includ­ing paper tow­els, toi­let paper and toi­let seat cov­ers. All these paper prod­ucts meet or exceed the recy­cled require­ments set by the USG­BC. In addi­tion, to com­ply with LEED stan­dards, we use trash lin­ers that meet or exceed US EPA stan­dards for recy­cled material.

Doc­u­men­ta­tion

A sig­nif­i­cant por­tion of the LEED cer­ti­fi­ca­tion pro­gram per­tains to the doc­u­men­ta­tion and record­ing of infor­ma­tion for jan­i­to­r­i­al clean­ing. Record­ed logs are required for var­i­ous items such as employ­ee train­ing, chem­i­cal stor­age, equip­ment repair, floor main­te­nance and car­pet care. The Budd Group under­stands these require­ments and has the nec­es­sary expe­ri­ence to ensure that all infor­ma­tion is doc­u­ment­ed cor­rect­ly accord­ing to LEED standards.

What is LEED?

LEED (Lead­er­ship in Ener­gy and Envi­ron­men­tal Design) is the most fre­quent­ly used green build­ing rat­ing sys­tem in the world. It was devel­oped by the USG­BC. This sys­tem estab­lish­es a process to pro­vide healthy and envi­ron­men­tal­ly respon­si­ble green build­ings. LEED cer­ti­fi­ca­tion is a glob­al­ly rec­og­nized sym­bol of sus­tain­abil­i­ty achievement.
